Assumed the familiar controllership role (see below) in addition to IT duties after the departure of the VP-Finance & Administration and the Accounting Manager.  My responsibilites have expanded to include theirs since the vacancies will not be recruited for.

December, 2004 – June, 2009

Director of Information Technologies – The Schaefer Group, Inc.

Responsible for technology systems for five locations and remote sales staff.  Implemented virtual private network, firewall, intranet, and many other upgrades.  Significant contributor in accounting/finance, bank relations, human resources, internal controls and strategic planning.

March, 2004 – December, 2004

Controller – Myers Enterprises.  (Feather Lite Innovations, Tuf-N-Lite, Dalaco, Myers Poured Concrete

            Walls and other entities.)

Responsible for financial, administrative and human resource functions, as well as information systems.  Focused on financial analyses, upgrading deficient information systems and procedures, and rewriting employee manuals and policies.

2002 – 2004

Controller – The Schaefer Group, Inc. (please see attached letter of recommendation also)

Responsible for financial, administrative, and human resource functions, as well as information systems.  Implemented GAAP, general ledger account reconciliations, monthly financials, employee evaluations.  Improved inventory control eliminating traditional 6-figure inventory write-down.  Corrected setups, created customizations, and improved utilization of Great Plains accounting software.  Restructured employee benefits, improved staff through training and competent recruiting.  Improved banking relations.  Improved the stability and fault-tolerance of information systems.

2001 – 2002

Manager, Training & Support Division - Computer Creations LLC

CCLLC acquired CSHTS (see below).  This was a continuation of the CSHTS roles with the added responsibility of supervising the Training & Support Department and participating in management.

1999 – 2001

CPA and Technology Advisor – Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. (CSH Technology Services)

Opened Dayton office covering Dayton, Springfield, and Middletown.  Created and implemented marketing plan.  Performed client needs analyses, software implementations, support and training (primarily Microsoft Dynamics GP, Small Business Manager and FRx software).  Also performed additional consulting services such as I.T. (or E.D.P.) internal control reviews and accounting support.

1992 – 1999

Director of MIS – Flagel, Huber, Flagel & Co.

Responsible for firm’s internal technology, staff and client help desk, and software sales and support.  Planned and budgeted technology.  Migrated the firm from an IBM System 36 to a Novell PC network.  Implemented numerous software migrations.  Trained staff and created documentation.  Sold and supported MAS90, BusinessWorks and One-Write Plus software.

1991 – 1992

Technology & Accounting Consultant – Sole Practitioner

Accounting and technology services for manufacturing, retail and service clients.  Maintained software programming for a retail chain.  Assembled, sold and installed PC hardware and peripherals.  Installed new hardware and software for CPA firm and trained its staff.  Performed tax and accounting services for CPA firm.

1987 – 1991

Accounting Software Programmer – Carlton Computer Systems, Dayton

Designed, wrote, implemented and supported custom accounting software, primarily for Amoco Oil based in Chicago.  Installed and supported PC’s and network systems.

1986 – 1987

Controller – Sun, Fun and Fitness, Dayton

Supervised administrative, accounting, and human resource functions.  Focused on bringing inoperative Unix computer system on-line and repairing corrupted data files.  Prepared consolidated monthly financials, multi-state payroll, payroll tax and sales tax returns.

1976 – 1986

Controller / Treasurer – Warehouse Beer Systems, Dayton

Supervised administrative and accounting functions for office and fifteen retail outlets.  Assumed many accounting functions previously outsourced to Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.  Performed all payroll and many human resource functions.  Reconciled bank statements.  Responsible for financial analyses and budgeting.  Prepared interim and year-end financials, year-end workpapers and most corporate tax returns.  Supervised selection, purchase, installation, programming and operation of company’s first computer system.  Authored corporate Standard Operating Procedure Manual.  Implemented system of job rotation in office to improve efficiency.
